I have to blog about my thursday 'train drama'!I boarded the train at Yishun mrt at around 1pm on wednesday to get to my 2pm lecture. Nothing unusual, right?
So I spotted an unoccupied corner and walked towards it, then I saw this middle-aged Indian man lying on the floor in the middle of the carriage I was in.
Yes, like LYING straight on the floor. My first thought was, "Oh my god, is he dead? Or fainted or something?"
But everyone else, including those people sitting on the seats on either side of the man were just preoccupied in their own matters, so I presumed he was just asleep. Besides, I could see his chest heaving up and down, so he should be just asleep. But on the floor???
So for the next few stops, I watched with great interest as passengers boarded the train, and moved attempted to move towards the middle of the carriage but stooped short when they saw the Indian man on the floor.
I was trying so hard not to laugh out loud when they all had this 'WTF' expression on their faces, but I'm sure I armchio-ed for quite abit.
At Ang Mo Kio, finally 2 female station staff boarded the train and one of them tried to wake the man up. She shook him quite violently but he didn't wake, and I had the "Is he dead" thought again. But when she pulled him up by the arm, the man opened his (bloodshot) eyes, then he went back to sleep (?) again when the station staff released his arm.
For several stops, the 2 station staff kept communicating via the speaker on the train to ask for male staff to help, but no one stepped in until Toa Payoh. By then, 2 nurses (I presume because one was in uniform and the other was her friend) had felt for the man's pulse but I wasn't sure what they said because I had my earpieces on :x
Then when the cavalry arrived in the form of 2 burly male station staff, they hauled the Indian man off the train.
Talk about dramas. This one beats all the Ch8 dramas.
