(posted Thursday 18/03)Last Day in Korea:
Day 6: Seoul
Weather: Drizzly, Freezing cold (0-2 degC)
We had a simple breakfast and it snowed for the first time in our six days there...
It was such a lovely view, although it only snowed for a few minutes...
We were trying to catch the snowflakes with our tongue! Quite retatrded I know, but yeah.XP
We had time for some last minute shopping at 'nu ren jie', which literally translates to 'women's street'.
How was this name derived?
Well, the area had initially developed as a shopping area for a girls' college that was situated near this area. Hence, the name 'nu ren jie' was given to the area.
However, over time, many other shops which also sold men's clothes and etc were opened. So the name has kind of lost its meaning.

Wonderful:P

Doesn't it look appetising, hehe.
The cold weather was so punishing for those not wearing gloves (i.e. me), so I was just bundling around with the rest.
I think we annoyed some of the shopkeepers by stepping into their shops just for the heater. LOL. What's more, we made the shop floor wet and dirty because it was raining! Oops, haha.
Using our limited Korean vocabulary to bargain was quite a joke.
It was quite standard:
1) Look around the shop
2) Shopkeeper asks if he/she could help. Usually they will ask where we're from.
3) Proudly exclaim, "Singapore!". Shopkeeper: "Oh, Singapore!"
4) We would say, "We buy many many, (give) discount!" (Must add hand actions)
Of course, the shopkeeper understands.
5) For further discount, praise the looks of the shopkeeper if he/she is average/above-average looking. Handsome=moshisseoyeo, pretty=ippohyeo
:D
